Prof. Sergey Kalyuzhnyi

Sergey Kalyuzhnyi graduated with honors from Chemistry Faculty, Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1981, defended his PhD thesis on chemical kinetics and catalysis in 1985 and defended his Doctor of Science Thesis on the same topic in 1992. Since 2006 he is a professor of the Department of Chemical Enzymology, Chemistry Faculty, Lomonosov Moscow State University.

He is an author of 7 monographs, 10 patents, and more than 80 articles in international journals. He was/is also a member of the editorial board of Water Research, Process Biochemistry, Bioresource Technology, and Critical Review in Environmental Bio-technology journals.

Professor Kalyuzhnyi is the Director of the Scientific and Technological Expertise Department in RUSNANO from 9 January 2008. From June 2008 he is a member of the Board of Directors of RUSNANO.

Commercialization of nanotechnologies in Russia promoted by RUSNANO

RUSNANO is a Russian state-controlled investment company with an exclusive focus on development and commercialization of nanotechnology projects in Russia. It was established in March 2011 through reorganization of the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies. The company intensifies the development of new technologies by bridging the gap between the product development and the market place. It also favors an establishment of new research laboratories and start-up companies to support project realization. RUSNANO provides worldwide funding for Russian as well as foreign high tech companies.

As of beginning of May 2012, there are 114 approved projects for total investment budget of 10.9 billion euro (RUSNANO part is about 4.8 billion euro) in RUSNANO portfolio, and financing of 99 of them has already been started. Among them, there are 21 projects proposed from applicants from USA, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Israel, China and several other countries. The talk will give an overview of current RUSNANO projects as well as company technological priorities in the field of nanotechnology.
