Gemasolar: the solar plant producing 24 h/day
Most of the renewable energy sources produce electricity when the conditions are favorable, but are dependable on the amount of wind or sun to operate. Gemasolar is the first commercial plant in the world being able to deliver solar energy the 24 h of the day, thanks to a 15h thermal storage system, composed of a huge amount of molten salts at high temperature.
The plant is already in operation, generating up to 408 MWh/day.
