Dr. Pirjo Pasanen
Dr. Pirjo Pasanen is a consultant at Spinverse Ltd, with long industry experience in nano- and information technology research in industry. She received her Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from University of Helsinki in 1996, and pursued academic research at Helsinki Institute of Physics and at Nobel Laureate Steven Weinberg's Theory Group, at University of Texas, USA.
Pirjo Pasanen started her work in Nokia in 2000, where her duties included planning and conducting research programs, collaboration with product design programs and analysis of mobile phone production data. In Radio Communications Laboratory she was deeply involved in research of novel radio communication systems and communication theory. In 2007 she entered the Nanosystems and Computing Structures team in Nokia Research Center as a Principal Research Scientist, with a focus on planning and strategy work and IPR portfolio analysis for Nokia nanotechnology activities and university collaborations. She has 22 patent applications, of which 12 in nanotechnology area.
In 2011 Pirjo Pasanen joined Spinverse where she has been coordinating technology evaluation and commercialization projects for Finnish and international nanotechnology companies and research institutes, IPR evaluation projects for universities, and EU-project preparation services for companies and research institutes. She is an internationally recognized expert in applications of graphene and in commercialization of research results.
