Iñaki San Sebastian
Iñaki San Sebastian is an industrial engineer from the University of Navarra (1989) and in 2007 he received a Master Degree in Business Management (MBA-Executive) at the University of Deusto.
He started his professional career in Fatronik as a researcher in projects oriented to the implementation of ICT in Manufacturing (1991). In 1993 he was the responsible for the R&D Department and in 2000 he assumed the position of Deputy General Manager. In 2008 he was appointed General Manager of Fatronik. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. San Sebastian was also the Technology and Market Manager of Tecnalia Corporation. In 2010 Fatronik with other 7 Technological Centers merged into Tecnalia and he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Tecnalia.
Throughout his professional career he has belonged and belongs to several relevant national and international committees related to the design and strategy of Science and Technology Systems. He is member of the Executive Committee of EARTO (European association bringing together the leading applied R+D companies and groups). Within EARTO, he leads the “RTO approaches to Innovation through new Business Models” Working Group.
Presentation
Iñaki will present the main challenges to cross the space, the time and the money to take the research to the markets. He will address some solutions and describe the role of RTOs (Research & Technological Organizations) to cover the gap. Finally, in relation to this objective, some practices currently undertaken by Tecnalia, will be pointed out.
